Biography

Maninder Sidhu is a husband, father, entrepreneur and philanthropist who is passionate about making Brampton a better place, and your Liberal candidate for re-election in Brampton East. Maninder has lived in Brampton for over 30 years, and is proud to call Brampton home alongside his wife and children.

In his first term as our MP, Maninder was able to advocate for and secure the single largest federal investment in the history of Brampton East, for a new transit maintenance facility. This facility will bring 1,000 good paying jobs to our community, unlock transit capacity, and help reduce pollution. He has also always been a consistent champion for young people in our community, and he was able to successfully advocate for more opportunities for youth in Brampton East through the Canada Summer Jobs program – which went from 80,000 funded placements to 120,000.

Building on the values that Maninder was raised on, Maninder firmly believes that one should do all the good that you can. Among many philanthropic endeavors, including mentoring aspiring young entrepreneurs, Maninder is the founder of The Kindness Movement Charity. This charity assists underprivileged school children and the less fortunate both in India and here in Canada.

After graduating from the University of Waterloo, Maninder built a successful customs brokerage business. Today, Maninder is determined to help young people and families here in Brampton East have a real and fair chance at success.

Maninder knows what it takes to strengthen our middle class, create well-paying new jobs, and offer real help to families. He believes in unlocking the potential of our talented young people to help our community grow and prosper.

Maninder will work to ensure everyone has the same opportunity he has had to live, work and raise a family in our hometown.
